TO MY DAD!!!

The last month has been a blur to me. It has been the longest month of my life but also gone by a lot fastest then I could imagine. On October 8th, my life changed. I received the call that you never want to get. I just got back to the Varney’s from hunting up AF canyon when my mom called their phone. I knew that wasn’t a good sign. That’s when she told me that my dad was dead. At first I didn’t believe her, how could he be dead. Dads aren’t suppose to die. They live forever!!!
On Friday, the 7th my two uncles and my dad drove up to their usual spot in the Uinta mountains for their annual elk hunt. They mainly go to get away from life and just enjoy being together and if they happen to see an elk they can shoot even better. That night it started to snow and on Saturday morning there was a sheet of snow on the ground. No big deal, who hasn’t hunted in the snow before??? They all loaded up in my Uncle Tony’s ranger and off they went, probably laughing and talking about how big of an elk they wanted to shoot. Then the worst thing happened, the back tire slipped while going over a little log on the trail and the ranger rolled down the side of the mountain. Now the rest of the story is just a guess to anyone but the roll killed my dad instantly( so they think and I hope). They say he hit his head on a rock and where he hit was right in the temple, people don’t survive that kind of hit. My uncle Kent got thrown out of the ranger and ended up with several broken ribs and my uncle Tony is still in the hospital and they don’t know if he will ever walk again. They hope but it’s still too early to tell.
Why is it that the good guys die young??? My dad was the best dad ever!!! He was my best friend. I don’t have a lot of friends now days but he was the person that I called if I wanted to talk to someone. I told him everything. He was a great role model to everyone especially to me. He would do anything for anyone who asked no matter what you needed or wanted. I was daddy’s little girl, I knew it and loved every moment of it. I could do no wrong in his eyes.

There is not a day that goes by that I don’t miss my daddy. It’s the hardest thing to go through knowing that I won’t be able to call or see my dad when I want to. I am so grateful for the time I did get with him. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have him as my dad. I will miss the days that I use to have lunch with my dad. We would talk about everything. I looked forward to Tuesdays when I would get that text from him saying “I’m ready come when you can”.
I know that I will see my dad again someday and when that time comes, I will run into his arms and hug him and I know that he can never leave me again. I will know that the pain will be gone and I will never feel that empty void again. I am so grateful knowing that my dad is with his parents, Jesus and Heavenly Father. I know that he is looking down on me and watching over me and my family. But I just wish that he was still with me.
I love you daddy!!!

Lehi Rodeo

We went to the Lehi rodeo with the Varney's. It's a family tradition to go. I didn't take a lot of pictures this time. But the kids love going and Cassidy always says that she will grow up be a princess like them.
Here we are at the stock parade. I love this parade short and sweet!!

The night of the rodeo, the kids love to dress up for it. Don't they look so cute.

Camping at Vernon

We love to go camping. It is so fun and I love to get away and be with my family. We try to go as much as we can. AF canyon was still closed so we decided to go to Vernon reservoir. I've never been there before but it was a lot of fun. Trevor's parents camped with us this time. It's always fun to have people with us. We got there a day before Jon and Jone. We took the kids fishing and then just played games at camp.

Then grandpa and grandma showed up the next day and we played and had fun with them. And of course I didn't take any pictures during the day but here we are sitting around the camp fire.

The next day colby brought up their kids (Heather had to work and school) and Mike and Torie came up as well. The kids had a blast playing together.

Cassidys haircut!!

I got the bug where I wanted to cut Cassidy's hair short. I talked her into it and did it as soon as she said ok. I went to a friend and she did awesome job. It was kind of sad cutting her hair short but she looks so darn cute, but now months later, I miss her long hair and can't wait for it to grow out.
Before

During

After

At first she started to cry because she said "I'm no longer a princess. Princess's have long hair not short hair," But after I told her that Tangled has short hair in the end of the movie, she felt better about it. But she still tells me that she is not going to ever cut her hair again

Camping out west

We went out west to go camping in June since AF canyon was still closed. We always go up AF the first part of June but this year there was still tons of snow so we chose to go out west. It was fun and nice to get away for the weekend. During the day it would get really warm and at night it would get pretty cool.
The first day that we got there. We just relaxed and read books and hung around the camp fire.

The next day the kids being cute

then after being cute they wanted to play, so we shot bb guns

then went to Utah lake to cool off

then Trevor's parents came up for the night and we hung around the camp fire and roasted hot dogs and ate grandma's famous camel popcorn.

The next morning we woke up and Trevor, Deegen and Cass went for a 4 wheeler ride while me and TJ stayed back. And of course TJ fell asleep.

After they got back, we had to catch a lizard. Grandma Varney would have been so proud.
