Happy Halloween

Halloween is always a fun time!! My parents always have a Halloween party and we usually crave pumpkins but this year we didn't we just played games and had dinner. It was still fun and the kids loved it.

Since we didn't crave pumpkins at my parents we did on Friday night. Deegen loves doing it and Cass wasn't sure if she liked the stuff that was inside of them. She kept poking it.

Then on Halloween went went up to the Varneys for a little party. It was fun and had tons of games to play. The kids love playing games and grandma and grandpa came up with the cutest games. This year Deegen was going to be spider man, he had it planned ever since Heather gave him the costumer for Christmas but the night before he had a melt down. He didn't want to be him anymore. He wanted to be something scary. So of course I gave in and off we went to the store to see if they had anything left. He ended up being a crypt ripper and he talked me into getting something as well. Now I don't dress up. I can't remember the last time that I dressed up but I was the devil. Trevor said that fit my personality. That was nice of him huh? So we ate, played games and then off to Grandpa Merrill's, Grandma Glenda's, my parents, then went trick or treating around our neighborhood. It was fun and so sad that its over ;)

Glad oct is over!

October wasn't our best month. Let me just say that I'm glad its over. The two first weeks were going good, not to many complaints. On Oct 11, we decided to celebrate Cassidy's and Hanks birthday that day instead on their birthday. It was easier since we were having dinner at the Varney's anyways. That night went good and had tons of fun. Cass is such a girl, when we put the cupcake in front of her she just took small bits unlike Hanks that enjoyed his cupcake. We opened presents and played. It was a good party for her.

Then the next day everything went down hill. Deegen came in my room while I was getting ready for work and said he didn't feel so good. He had a temp of 102 so I knew I wasn't going to work that day. So Cass and I tried to stay away from Deegen but Cass got sick that afternoon. It just hit her hard and fast. Lets just say she didn't ask for that for her birthday present. Her temp got up to 104.7 for the high and 101 for the low. On Tuesday I took her into the Dr's and they told me that they thought it was the swine flu but they wanted to make sure before they gave her the medicine for it. So we had the nasal test done at the hospital and then waited 28 hours for the test results. They said it came back positive for the swine flu and they called the script in for me. But of course the pharmacy was out and said to come back the next day. But by then she was feeling a lot better and she was starting to act like herself again so the Dr said it would be pointless to give it to her. Then Friday came along and she developed an awful cough so we went back into the Dr's and they were like why are you here, go home and deal with it. I left kind of mad that night. There was something wrong with my daughter and they didn't want to take the time to make sure she was ok. So that night she spiked a temp again to 104 and I couldn't get it to go below 102. The next day which was Saturday, she wouldn't even move, talk ,eat or drink anything. So again I called the Dr to see what to do and to bring her in. They told me they were booked and to take her into the ER. So we did and it was a good thing. First of all the ER Dr showed my the lab results from Tuesday and it wasn't the swine flu it was influenza A which can be worse. Then she was in the beginning stages of bacterial pneumonia. She had to get some IV antibiotics and fluids. It was so sad to see my little girl just lay there on the bed. I've never seen her so sad. Her eyes were so sad. But that night she started to act better and the next day she was up and running around again. I was so scared, to see your baby laying there not moving or talking. She didn't even want me to hold her. When I touched her she would say that hurts mom. Then she would ask me "mom, am I sick?" During this whole week Trevor and I were sick too. Whatever we had, the swine flu or just influenza A, it really kicked our butts. Two weeks later and I'm just staring to feel normal again.

Just wanted to wish Trevor a happy 30th birthday! I can't believe that you turned 30. But you are still young at heart. I love you and are grateful that you are in my life. Hope you have a great day!! I love you!!

Dear Cassidy

Dear Cassidy,

Today you are turning 2 and the time has flown by for me. I can still remember when I found out I was pregnant with you. I took 5 tests to make sure and then I still didn't believe it. I was so scared. I wasn't ready to have another baby but I guess Heavenly father knew what he was doing. I could tell that you were going to be a very strong willed baby. If you didn't like something you definitely let me knew and everything was on your time. That's how I knew you were a girl. Your dad and I didn't want to find out what you were but the doc accidentally showed us on the ultrasound. I think your dad got scared knowing that he was having a baby girl. Since that time, you have had your dad wrapped around your little finger. I was due on Oct 23, 2007 but then the doc told me that he thought I weren't due until around the 30th because you were so small. But no, you came when you were ready on Oct 12, 2007. The whole week before that I was having little contractions and so I knew that you wouldn't be too much longer but I still wasn't ready. On Thursday the day before you were born I had a Dr appointment and he said that I had a couple of weeks to go and maybe longer. So that night your dad signed up to work on Friday to get some extra hours in. Friday morning dad's alarm clock went off around 4:45am and I told him that I think I'm having contractions but wasn't sure cause they didn't hurt too bad. So your dad got ready for work and right before he was ready to leave he asked me "are you having her today? Do you want to go to the hospital?" and I still didn't know. But I said I think I need to go and get checked out. We loaded Deegen into the car and drove him up to grandma Varney's house and off we went to hospital. I remember checking in and they wanted to make sure that I was in labor so they had me a room for little over an hour and by then I knew that I was in labor. The nurse finally came in and said "are you ready for this little one to come?" and dad and I both said no. I wasn't suppose to be having you for a couple more weeks. We didn't even have your name picked out. I still had things I needed to do before you came but it proved to me how strong willed you are yet again. You were born at 10:58 am and were 18 inches long and weight 6lbs 3oz. You were so tiny but had a hugh spirit. You have bought so much joy to our family. I love your laugh, your smile and even your tantrums. I am so lucky to have you as my little girl. You are so smart for your age. You can talk in full sentences, count to 10 with a little help and even sometimes go potty on the toilet. Right now you are into Mickey Mouse, princesses, dogs and backyardgians. You love popcorn, root beer, candy(doesn't matter what kind) and pizza. You say please, thank you and you're welcome which I love.

Pumpkins

This year we decided not to grow pumpkins in our garden, Trevor said they took up too much room so we had to go buy some. We went to kind of a pumpkin patch to let the kids pick their own out. They loved it!! Deegen had to have the biggest of course, Cass wanted a small one and Trevor didn't want one at all. I don't think he likes pumpkins that much. They both helped me pick mine out. Cass and Deegen had to have their own wagon to pull the pumpkins around it. It was kind of cute. That night Deegen kept asking me if we could crave them. He loves Halloween. I think this and Christmas are his favorite holidays. Then there is Cassidy, I' m not sure if she is going to like Halloween this year. Every time she sees something about Halloween she starts saying "that's scary" or "that's spooky". I guess we'll have to wait and see.
