Deegen turned 7

I have been so busy with life I forget to post. So I'm a week behind for Deegen's birthday. But it's better last than never. Last Sunday Deegen turned 7!!! I can't believe my little boy is already 7. Where has time gone? I remember the day he was born. He is turning into such a big kid. No longer my baby boy, even though he still loves to give his mom hugs and kisses everyday. I hope he never grows out of that. I'm so lucky to be his mom and grateful each day that he is mine!!

Deegen is a great big brother and loves his sister and can't wait for the next brother or sister to come. He is so excited. I'm due March 10, 2011. He says he wants another sister to play with. Don't ask me why girls are so whinny but I think he loves being the big brother.

First Grade and Dance Lessons

Deegen started first grade this year. He loves it. Mostly because you get to eat at school and have 3 recesses. He has a really good teacher this year and has already learned a lot. Each night is comes home with about an hour of homework. Which it's not hard but just time consuming. But welcome to life I guess. It only gets worse I hear. Deegen has so many friends at school. Each day I ask him who he played with at recess and he always says a new name. I can't keep up with all of them but for some reason Trevor can. I'm just really bad with names (that's my excuse). Trevor took him to school on the first day, I had to work of course, but they loved it and had fun.

Cassidy started dance lesson the first week of September. She loves every moment of it. She does pretty good for her age. She's learning so much. Now she dances more than ever around the house. She is so cute. Everyday she asks if she can go to dance. She is growing up so fast.

Her is dance class. So was cute cute the first day. At first she was scared and wasn't sure about it until the teacher started to dance for them and then she realized that it was ok.

Surgery

Cassidy had her tonsils, adenoid removed and then had tubes put in her ears in August. We finally went and saw an ear, throat and nose doctor in July and he said that hers were so bad that it could of been the cause of why she was so sick last winter. So we scheduled the surgery and waited. When the day finally came it was a little scary for me. To have your 2 year old have surgery isn't the funnest thing but I knew it had to be done. We had to be at the hospital at 7:15 am which was nice. The whole surgery only lasted about 35 mins but then when she came out they took her start to the pediatrics unit. We meet them in the hall and Cass was freaking out. She had a hard time waking up and her oxygen was low for about an hour. Once she finally got some pain meds she calmed down and started to eat some Popsicles. Then her oxygen went up. We were there for about 5 hours total and we didn't even get to talk to the dr after the surgery. Which made us mad. So a week later she had a check up and he told us that they were a 3+ and was blocking about 75% of her airways. Then when he cleaned out her ears to put the tubes in he said there was a lot of fluids and was surprised that she could hear as good as she does. So all and all she did great and now is doing great. She feels so much better. I hope this winter will go better than the last one.

In the waiting room, waiting to go back and get ready for the surgery. We got back there and Cass loved the outfit they gave her, they even let her bring it home.

After surgery she wasn't feeling so great she just wanted us to lay by her and not leave her sight. Which I don't blame her.

She was finally doing better and was ready to leave but they wouldn't let us. They were so nice to us on the peds unit. They gave her so many things to play with. They ended up giving her a Tu Tu and a magic wand that matched.

UPDATE!!

This year has gone by way to fast for me. I can't believe it's been 9 months since I have been on here. So sorry about all the pictures but I'm going to give a brief summary of what we have been up to this summer.

Here is June!!!

Trevor, Jon, Jone and I went to Denver to watch the Rockies play. It was a lot of fun except for all the rain. We were gone for 3 days without the kids. It was nice to be away but loved coming home and seeing them.

Fathers day with the Varney's.

Father's day with my family
Cass posing for the camera. She loves it!! She is so fun and full of life.

Lehi Rodeo, the kids love to get dressed up.

Deegen at his T-ball game. He did really good this year. He was one of the better players. We were so proud of him.
Well, that was a sum up for June. I'll try to get July on before the month ends.

Happy Halloween

Halloween is always a fun time!! My parents always have a Halloween party and we usually crave pumpkins but this year we didn't we just played games and had dinner. It was still fun and the kids loved it.

Since we didn't crave pumpkins at my parents we did on Friday night. Deegen loves doing it and Cass wasn't sure if she liked the stuff that was inside of them. She kept poking it.
Trevor helping Cass crave hers and Deegen working on his
They turned out pretty good.
Then on Halloween went went up to the Varneys for a little party. It was fun and had tons of games to play. The kids love playing games and grandma and grandpa came up with the cutest games. This year Deegen was going to be spider man, he had it planned ever since Heather gave him the costumer for Christmas but the night before he had a melt down. He didn't want to be him anymore. He wanted to be something scary. So of course I gave in and off we went to the store to see if they had anything left. He ended up being a crypt ripper and he talked me into getting something as well. Now I don't dress up. I can't remember the last time that I dressed up but I was the devil. Trevor said that fit my personality. That was nice of him huh? So we ate, played games and then off to Grandpa Merrill's, Grandma Glenda's, my parents, then went trick or treating around our neighborhood. It was fun and so sad that its over ;)
